Cutting the First Patterns: The T-Shirt Factory Moves One Step Closer to Opening

We continue to make strong, steady progress on the T-Shirt factory in the Dominican Republic.

Just recently, during our annual child sponsorship Christmas mission trip, our team had the opportunity to tour the facility and see firsthand how far this project has come. Shortly after our visit, the cutting table arrived—one of the final critical pieces needed before staff training could begin. Its arrival marked a major milestone and cleared the way for the next phase of operations.

While on site, I personally helped our National, Marino, pick up the generator that will serve as a power backup for the factory. The local power grid is notoriously unreliable, and for this business to operate sustainably, consistent power is essential. Along with Marino, our electrical engineer Kelvin, and myself, we braved the intense Santo Domingo morning rush-hour traffic—just seven miles each way, but nearly two hours round trip. Not long after, a crane lifted the generator into place, securing another key piece of infrastructure for the factory.

Today, we cut the first 500 patterns in preparation for staff training, which is now right around the corner. Each step brings us closer to launching a project designed to sustain this ministry long-term.

Although we are nearing the grand opening, we are still actively raising funds to fully complete this project. If you feel led to support this work, please consider clicking the button below. Thank you for walking alongside us as this vision continues to become reality 🙏.
