The Journey of ASON International's Bolga Baskets

Every Bolga Basket from ASON International isn't just a piece of art; it's a lifeline. Nestled deep in the colors and intricate patterns of each basket is a story—a tale of dedication, hope, and love from our Ministry in Ghana.

When you choose a Bolga Basket from us, you're making a choice that reverberates across the waters, directly impacting the lives of Ghanaian families. We pride ourselves on acquiring these baskets at prices well beyond the standard fair trade value, ensuring a fair and ethical transaction that significantly benefits the artisans. Such a gesture ensures that a single basket's proceeds can provide sustenance to a Ghanaian family for an entire month. We also ensure during our procurement process that the money gets put directly into the hands of the weavers.

When you buy from ASON, you’re making a commitment to circumvent the typical supply chain in order to support the local weavers and not the intermediaries.

From the hands of Ghanaian weavers to international events, our baskets have found homes at Women's Conferences and have been admired at local Arts & Crafts fairs. The uniqueness of each basket reflects the spirit and individuality of its creator – making every basket a testament to human creativity and resilience.

Procurement Process

We would be happy to share our price list with you, along with a list of styles and sizes typically available. However, due to the unique handcrafted nature of each Bolga Basket, we cannot guarantee availability for any specific size, style, or pattern. While we endeavor to procure the best sellers of each size and style combination based on customer preference, we appreciate your flexibility based on availability.

Weavers from various villages travel to our Ministry to hold a virtual market, where we meticulously select these baskets, with the weavers being paid in cash right before our eyes.

This authentic procurement process can take up to 2 weeks to coordinate. The minimum order quantity is 30 baskets, and the lead time can be up to 8 weeks from procurement, so we encourage you to plan ahead.
